CHECK OUT OUR NEW DESIGN

Check out the new design for the Education and Training pages of our site.
Not only has all the information on courses and the means of funding been collated
into a more accessible format, but we have also added more pages of general information.

The new info sheets cover such subjects as : "Why should I train", "Stage Management and Tech info",
"A career in the Performing Arts" and more on "Funding".

A extremely helpful new info sheet is the "Auxiliary information" this covers a great range of topics
that NCDT don't deal with but often get enquiries on.
So we thought it was about time we found out some contact numbers for you.
Subjects include: Amateur Theatre, Make-up, Costume, Puppetry and Mime,
Drama Therapy, Stuntwork, Circus Skills, Physical Theatre and Playwriting !

Do take a look at all the new pages by clicking on the Education and Training
link in the left frame, and let me know what you think of the new design.
Also let me know if there are any subjects that you think we could have more information on.

GRADUATE DATABASE REMINDER

Just a quick note to remind all graduating students to fill in and return their database forms to me (Charlie)
as soon as possible.

If you want to update your details on our database and have forgotten how to do so, just mail me, and I will go through the process with you.

Also a quick note to say that the automatic password facility is not working, so if you have forgotten your password , again, mail me and I can get it for you.
We hope to have this facility up and running again, but you know what servers are like, great on technology hopeless at customer services !

Also, I have changed the form slightly so that you can include your
Spotlight PIN Numbers on the form (not update numbers -
keep those to yourself otherwise some unscrupulous being could change your credits!)
The Spotlight PIN Number will enable casting directors etc to look you up through the Spotlight website.

ADVICE ON LETTER WRITING

I noticed a letter in the Stage recently, from a theatre director,
complaining about young actors and actresses sending letters and CV's to
his theatre, even though it wasn't a producing house.
I thought it was probably worth a small piece on this sort of thing, as not only can br> it be annoying to the directors but it's also a waste of your time and money.
Much better to get an up to date copy of Contacts and check thoroughly
that the people you are writing to are the ones that are actually
in a position to give you work!

The same applies to agents, there's no point in inviting every agent in
the book to your showcase, if it turns out that half of them deal with supporting artistes, animals and children.
Do your research first and it will pay off (not least of all in the saving of stamps and costly repros!)
