How to use the course search
The course search is very easy to use, simply fill in at least one of the fields on the right and click on Submit. The more of the fields you fill in the more specific your search results will be.
You can view this search in two ways- either the detailed or list version. You can also sort the results in a number of ways- whether alphabetically, by class size or simply which is closest to home.
Accreditation and Recognition
The Accreditation and Recognition logos indicate the courses which Drama UK has assessed and considers to have fulfilled the criteria for that level of award. Accredited School Courses offer the highest levels of vocational training. They reassure students that the course is acknowledged by the broadcasting, theatre and media industries as being relevant to the purpose of their employment, and the profession has confidence that the people they employ who have completed the course have the skills and attributes required for the continuing health of the industry. Recognised courses offer high quality training exactly as its course description outlines. Both quality marks are applied for by the institutions and include panel visits by industry professionals to the course.
To find out more go to our Accreditation and Recognition information pages.
There are however plenty of well regarded courses that don't have Drama UK accreditation or recognition. As we have not assessed these courses we cannot award them a quality mark but by providing details of these courses along with key indicators (details you can compare) we hope you will be able to make a better informed choice from the courses available.
What do the key indicators mean?
In the search results you will find a brief description of the courses aims along with 4 indicators; enrolled students, class number, contact hours and public performances.
- Enrolled students - The number of students who enrolled on this course at the beginning of the academic year
- Class Numbers - The number of students in each class for this course.
- Contact hours - The number or hours a student on this course will work with a tutor each week.
- Public Performances - The number of productions a student on this course will appear in during the year or for vocational training courses during their final year of the course.
These indicators are areas that we believe are important to get a brief glance of the training you will receive. You can then go on to more info and then full details which will give details on application, key staff, facilities and all additional information.
Compare
You can compare several of the courses you are interested in by simply ticking the compare box under the course listings. They will then appear at the top right on the screen and you can compare them by pressing the green compare button or the word ‘compare’ in the menu bar.
Favourite
If you are logged in with your account you can 'favourite' courses so that they can be saved and you can return to them at any time.
Which is best?
That is something we can't tell you. There are a wide range of courses available because different training suits different people. We hope that this site will be useful in helping you find the right course for you.
